The new form is significantly different and longer – an increase to 21 pages from 10 pages. It includes more extensive questions about crimes, other bars to naturalization and the applicant’s parents. There is a 90-day period to transition to the new form which becomes effective May 5th. Eligible applicants should apply before the new form becomes effective or plan to spend a significant amount of time gathering information and completing the new application. It is of note, the form has changed but the eligibility requirements for naturalization have not changed. For more information, click here.
