E-2 Visa Five Year Extension Approved for
Canadian Citizen at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto

Our client, a Canadian citizen, came to the U.S. with his family five years ago to start a niche automotive business under an E-2 treaty investor visa. The E-2 visa is an attractive way for small business owners and entrepreneurs from certain countries that have a treaty of commerce with the U.S. to come and expand or start a business.

However, meeting the requirements of the E-2 visa is not easy. The applicant must make a substantial investment sufficient to support the success of the business, provide a benefit to the local economy and hire U.S. workers.

We worked with our client on the initial successful processing of his first five-year E-2 visa to start and develop his business. We stayed in contact with him, kept him informed of immigration changes that could impact his status and renewal, and four months ago started the preparation for his E-2 extension. Just as the case with the initial filing, during the E-2 renewal, the business owner must show financial success and how his enterprise is providing economic benefits to the U.S.

We guided him through the development of a comprehensive immigration business plan to establish how his business met the requirements. This business plan plays a very important role in the renewal process, and we offer a Free Resource on how to effectively prepare your immigration business plan.

We also assembled a strong portfolio of documents to showcase our client’s business success and his contributions to the economy. We submitted the filing to the Toronto Consulate. A week after the submission, the consulate approved our E-2 visa five-year extension request without an interview.

Our client says “Glad to be back home now, here are copies of our E-2 visas, Thank You!”

Past results do not dictate future results and individual results may vary. Marks Gray’s Immigration Team has had 100% success rate with E-2 initial petitions and extensions. For more information about applying or renewing an E-2 visa application, please contact us via email [email protected].
