Immigration Success Story: NIW Green Card for a Scientist from Taiwan

by | Jun 8, 2017 | Immigration, Success Stories

The Marks Gray Immigration Team regularly helps clients obtain Green Cards for permanent residency through National Interest Waivers (NIW).

This month, we are highlighting a success story of a scientist from Taiwan who is well-known for the development and implementation of novel proton therapy technologies used to combat cancer.

To prove that this candidate’s permanent residency was in the best interest of our nation, we prepared a strong petition highlighting his publications, educational background, letters from colleagues and highly regarded practitioners in his field, evidence of his participation in global medical panels and conferences, and copies of presentations and papers given at those conferences.

National Interest Waivers offer a way for individuals with advanced degrees conducting work of national importance to bypass the typical Labor Certification because it is in the national interest.  These talented individuals can apply for a Green Card to live and work in the United States permanently.

Our documentation, up-to-date knowledge of USCIS’ requirements, and thorough preparation led to a great result: an approval of the NIW!

As a result, our foreign client now lives permanently in the United States with his family.  He is continuing to work for our employer client, a research institute, on the development of one of the most promising cancer treatment methods in the world.

The Marks Gray Immigration Team is proud to be a part of this journey.
