Nearly one million dollars in goods and services cross the Canada-U.S. border every minute. The Beyond the Border program includes 32 initiatives and calls for enhancements  designed to help trusted businesses and travelers move efficiently across the border, improve North American security and align regulatory approaches while reducing administrative burden for business, and invest in improvements to shared border infrastructure and technology.  As part of the program, The US and Canada released a joint “Statement of Privacy Principles” concerning the provision, receipt and use of personal information exchanged between the two countries to “address shared threats to national security” which is expected to enhance questionning at the border. To read the announcement, click here.
