Giselle Carson received the 2019 International Individual Award from the JaxUSA Partnership on December 10, 2019, at their 4 Quarterly Luncheon.
Ray Driver, President of the Jax USA Partnership introduced Giselle by saying,
“This talent attraction is not bound by domestic borders and as the region continues to be desirable to international business relocations and expansions, the need and ability to import foreign workforce also remain a priority.
Enter Giselle Carson, shareholder and immigration lead for Marks Gray, who initiated the immigration practice at the firm in 2005 upon identifying a need that was not available to clients in the area. Launching by assisting two local healthcare clients obtain work visas for foreign employees, the practice has now grown to 40 clients nationwide and globally.
A two-time immigrant herself, Giselle knows the benefits of immigration, but also the challenges for individuals and businesses in obtaining authorization to work in the United States.
The immigration process can be confusing for international businesses setting up roots in the region. Therefore, her insight on the process is invaluable.
She is quick to engage in JAXUSA projects as our clients seek counsel on issues such as relocating employees; bringing in foreign staff to train domestic employees; explaining timelines for visas or green cards; and more.
She is a renowned speaker on immigration issues and a published author of the book, Beyond the H-1B: A Guide to Work Visa Options for Employers, Foreign Nationals and Graduating Students.
And when not helping clients or serving on community boards, you’ll find Giselle hitting the pavement. She is a five-time Ironman finisher, 16-time marathon finisher and a member of the Seven Continent Marathon Club.
If you weren’t already intimidated by her, you sure are now.”
