Attorney Logan K. McEwen offers pro-bono work for JALA Eviction Defense Self Help Clinics

by | Feb 8, 2019 | Announcement

Many Marks Gray attorneys participate in pro bono work using their skill set and experience to make a difference in the lives of Northeast Florida residents and businesses in pro-bono work.  Attorney Logan K. McEwen continues the tradition in his support of Jacksonville Legal Aid in pro bono representation and, participates in JALA Eviction Defense Self Help Clinics monthly. In the spring of last year, The Eviction Defense Self Help Project was formed to provide free legal resource available every Wednesday afternoon, by appointment. Free legal assistance is provided to qualifying tenants who: need defense against eviction or need to withhold rent or terminate a lease because of poor housing conditionings. Studies show that stable housing is the foundation for economic autonomy, educational achievement, employment, and good mental and physical health. It follows that working to ensure stable housing is a high priority in helping families move out of poverty and into financial health.
