The Importance of Certified English Translations

by | Nov 7, 2019 | Immigration, Immigration Tips

How important is it to get Certified English Translation of your documents? Very.

More and more, USCIS has been issuing Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs) if translated documents do not fully comply with regulations. The types of documents they’re targeting vary, but have included birth certificates, diplomas, transcripts and more.

What are those regulations?

“…all foreign language documents must be accompanied by a full English language translation and a certification statement from the translator, in which the translator specifically certifies that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.”

To assist our clients in complying with this requirement, we have created a sample certification you can find here.
