On September 18, 2014 Marks Gray shareholder Edward L. Birk moderated a day-long seminar titled, What You Need to Know about Public Records and Open Meetings in Florida. The seminar provided important information about the public’s right to information and how state and local agencies can be sure to comply with Florida’s broad public records and open meetings laws. Public records officials from state, local, and quasi-governmental organizations attended the seminar to learn the ins and outs of state public records and open meetings laws and recent developments in the interpretation of these laws. Attorney Ed Birk also spoke during the seminar on best practices for public records custodians and records requesters.
