Jeptha ‘Jep’ Barbour practices in the area of civil litigation focusing on products liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, commercial and disability litigation. He received a B.B.A. from Stetson University and J.D. from Stetson College of Law.
Mr. Barbour is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Defense Research Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates (President, Jacksonville Chapter, 2005) and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. He served on the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar (2003-2008). Mr. Barbour is an Emeritus member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. He is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association (Board member, 1992-1997; President, 1996-1997).
Since July 2014, Mr. Barbour has served on the Board of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC is an invitation-only international association of 2,500 defense attorneys and corporate counsels committed to excellence in the representation of corporate and insurance clients. He has served on the Medical Defense (Chair, 2003-2005); Products Liability , Drug and Medical Device; and Civil Rights and Governmental Law committees and was on the Faculty (1997) and served as Director (2011) of the IADC Trial Academy.
Mr. Barbour has been listed in Florida’s Super Lawyers® magazine each year since 2007 (a Top Lawyer in 2009, 2013, and 2016) and named to the Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine each year since 2008.
