Josephine Chen joined the Intellectual Property practice as a patent agent registered to provide patent prosecution services before the United States Patent and Trademarks Office.
Chen assists with the preparation, filing and prosecution of U.S., Taiwan and PCT patent applications for small- and medium-sized businesses. Prior to joining Marks Gray, Josephine worked as a patent agent in Taiwan, specializing in the medical and biotechnology fields. She has worked closely with professors and physicians at medical universities for global patent procurement for medical centers and hospitals. She has the insight and experience to assist Marks Gray’s medical and health care clients protect their medical devices and processes.
She is fluent in English and Mandarin and is experienced in corresponding with clients as well as coordinating with foreign associates regarding foreign patent prosecution in Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, India, and Vietnam, and beyond. In addition, her experience extends to other technical arts including mechanical devices and methods. Chen is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology.
