Four Clients with Challenging Backgrounds Become U.S. Naturalized Citizens in August 

Each one of these clients has their own amazing story of persistence, hard work, and patriotism. Here, I will highlight two of these extraordinary cases.

The first one of our clients who became a U.S. citizen this month has been one of our clients of many years. We represented her and her U.S. Citizen husband in their marriage-based I-130 petition and adjustment of status to a green card. This petition turned out to be complicated when USCIS claimed that she had misrepresented her admission to the U.S. We overcame the misrepresentation argument and won a waiver of extreme hardship on her behalf. Two years later, we also represented this hard working couple in a successful I-751 application to remove the conditions of her permanent residence.

In August, I had the privilege of accompanying her to her naturalization interview.  I witnessed her joy and the joy of her family when she was approved for naturalization. The officer asked her if she wanted to participate in the naturalization ceremony that was taking place that same day, and she happily accepted!

After the ceremony, her husband sent me a text message saying “What a long ride it’s been. Such a happy ending! Thank you for all of your help and for joining us on the journey.”
