Marks Gray, P.A. wins Healthiest Employer Award

by | Jul 1, 2013 | News

Marks Gray, P.A. was recently honored as one of Jacksonville’s Healthiest Employers in the small company (less than 100 employees) category by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

Marks Gray offers entertaining and educational luncheons and seminars informing employees on healthy habits and choices including; making healthy meal choices, stress and management skills and personalized fitness choices.  Each year the wellness committee offers an on-site health clinic offering employees the opportunity to schedule time for routine care without taking time off work

Our most successful campaigns are; the annual “Biggest Loser Contest”, usually held at the beginning of the year. Employees are encouraged to lose the extra pounds they may have put on during on the holidays or gained throughout the year and  our “Spring Fitness Challenge” teams input the minutes of exercise each day and the team with the most minutes at the end of the challenge wins a gift card to a local sports store.

Marks Gray removed their vending machine years ago and instead offers snack options that help fuel employee performance while also meeting their nutritional needs

We know the importance of mental health is just as important as physical health. Marks Gray offers seminars on stress reduction and management. We encourage employees to take several breaks throughout the day to go for a walk or get outside for a breath of fresh air.

This award recognizes companies that have made a commitment to make wellness a reality for their employees. These companies proactively shape the health of their employees. The award winners are measured using six core areas of workplace wellness:  Cultural and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions and reporting and analysis.
