Heath L. Vickers concentrates his practice on civil trial defense in the areas of government liability, retail and premises liability, trucking and transportation and medical liability.  Mr. Vickers also practices in the area of insurance fraud and is the attorney hiring and recruiting manager for the firm.

Since 2010, Mr. Vickers has been a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and is the Chair of the FDLA Premises Liability Committee. Mr. Vickers was named a Rising Star in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016  by Florida Super Lawyers® magazine. He is currently a member of the Florida Bar,  Bar Association of Jacksonville, and Jacksonville Association Defense Counsel.

In 2006, Mr. Vickers graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. Mr. Vickers received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2010.

While in law school, Mr. Vickers was actively involved with the mock trial team. He competed in the 2008 Georgetown Law National White Collar Crime Competition in Washington, D.C.; 2009 National Trial Competition Regional in Tallahassee, Florida; 2009 Georgetown Law National White Collar Crime Competition in Washington, D.C.; and 2010 National Trial Competition Regional in Jackson, Mississippi.  His team went to the semifinals in three out of four of the above-referenced competitions. Mr. Vickers was awarded the “Exceptional Advocate Award” at the 2009 Georgetown Law National White Collar Crime Competition.  Furthermore, in 2009, Mr. Vickers won the inaugural Spohrer & Dodd Trial Advocacy Scholarship Competition, which was held at Florida Coastal School of Law.

Prior to law school, Mr. Vickers worked in the Special Investigations Unit of the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. He audited governmental agencies and performed fraud investigations.

Mr. Vickers currently serves as a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of Jacksonville and is a Gator Bowl Committee member. Mr. Vickers clerked for Marks Gray in the summer of 2009 and also interned with the United States Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville, in the spring of 2010.

Mr. Vickers is an avid sports fan. He enjoys watching the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Braves, and Georgia Southern Eagles.
